Matteo
Matteo Zamboni was born and raised in a small town in the north of Italy province of Brescia. Matteo started his career in the hospitality business at the age of thirteen working in the kitchen of a local restaurant.
Soon enough he realised that hospitality was his passion and straight after completing five years of hospitality school, he started to travel with the goal of learning the tricks of the trade from the best chefs around the world.
Matteo trained in several Michelin star restaurants such as the three star La Pergola in the Rome Waldorf Astoria, the two Michelin star Ristorante Cracco in Milan and the three Michelin star RyuGyn in Tokyo.
At the beginning of 2009 Matteo had also the honour to cook for the Royal family of Qatar.

Over a decade ago, Matteo finally moved to Australia where he immediately fell in love with the culture and the lifestyle to the point that he now calls Sydney home. Soon after moving to Australia, he became the sous chef at the two hatted Ormeggio at the Spit and later the head chef at the iconic Pilu at Freshwater. After successfully running his own pop up restaurant, Matteo became the Executive Chef at the prestigious Jonah's at Whale Beach. At the beginning of 2022, Matteo and his team opened Civico 47, a casual fine dining restaurant in Paddington which is aiming to become a point of reference for the Italian food scene in Sydney.

Over the years, Matteo has collaborated with several brands in the food, design and high-end home appliances industries showing natural abilities at establishing engaging interactions with people leveraging his skilled yet approachable cooking style.
Matteo has also been involved in various charity events and initiatives such as the Bestest for kids and he's a proud ambassador for the Miracle Babies Foundation. He is also a father, an amateur cocktail maker and a part time surfer.
